5 FREE resources to learn Web Development

Nowadays learning new stuff is pretty easy, thanks to the internet. We are presenting you 5 free resources to learn web development. Hope you’ ll enjoy it.

1. FreeCodeCamp

FreeCodeCamp is probably one of the best websites where you can learn web development. It has everything you need from simple HTML to Information Security and Quality Assurance. You learn by doing simple challenges and on the end of each curriculum you have to do few challenges on your own to earn a certificate.

2. MDN

MDN Web Docs (previously known as MDN — the Mozilla Developer Network) is an evolving learning platform for Web technologies and the software that powers the Web.

It is great for learning in depth HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Apart from that it is great as reference source.

Downside here is that you do not have any kind of challenges or assignments.

3. Coursera

Coursera is great tutorial platform with free content, except graded assignments. It is much like Udemy or Linda. You pick your course and follow along.

Great thing about Coursera is that it is founded by Stanford professors and most of its courses are created by top professionals from all around the world.

4. W3Schools

W3Schools is here for long time. Most of the Senior Devs started their journey here. Using W3Schools you can learn a lot of web development. It covers:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • PHP
  • SQL
  • NodeJS
  • ASP
  • Python
  • Java

and a lot more things. It also covers some frameworks like Bootstrap, React, Angular…

Even though most of the developers would say it’ s not good (some of it’ s code is out-of date) it still makes hell of foundation. And it’ s great for later reference tool.

5. YouTube

Yes, YouTube. YouTube is one of the biggest if not THE biggest resource for learning anything about web development. There are some great channels like Academind or TraversyMedia or FlorinPop.

These guys are great and with them you can learn everything there is on web development.
